JENNIFER

Jennifer Nelson’s yoga journey began in 2004 when she discovered prenatal yoga in Sherman Oaks, California. After having her son and recognizing the benefits of yoga, it became a regular discipline in her Life. It brought clarity and peace of mind, while constantly challenging her to explore her practice further.

While Jennifer enjoys many different styles of yoga, her favorite is vinyasa flow. Don’t be surprised to see her upside down! She loves inversions and arm balances, and has been known to break into a headstand at any given moment! She’s searched out yoga classes when traveling and always appreciates the knowledge that each instructor brings. Fun fact: Jennifer has taken classes in seven different languages in five countries, which proves how truly universal yoga really is!

As Jennifer became more mindful of the positive affects the yoga practice had on her physical and mental well-being, her desire to share this experience and philosophy with others grew. In August of 2017, she earned her 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher certification from the Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica.

In addition to teaching yoga, Jennifer has her own graphic design and website development business. She is also very involved in fundraising and activities at her children’s schools.

Jennifer is grateful for the opportunity to share her love of yoga, and as a teacher, she finds that she is constantly learning through her students. Her true inspiration is the love she receives from her family; her husband Lennie and her amazing children, Joshua and Avery who have supported her through her journey. Jenn’s sweet beagle, Willie Nelson, is always at her feet to help test her balance!

MARY ANN

Mary Ann Simmons was first introduced to yoga in 2011 when the school where she was teaching offered after-school yoga for the teachers to help reduce stress and encourage physical fitness. Having a background in ballet dance, she was immediately drawn to the beauty and serenity of yoga. In 2017, she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training through Dharma Yoga in Austin, Texas and began teaching yoga in a variety of settings.

Mary Ann brings her knowledge of teaching and creative movement to her yoga classes. She loves teaching vinyasa flow that allows the body to move with breath and intention. She believes yoga has the capacity to strengthen the body, calm the mind, and open the heart. She strives to live a life of gratitude for her faith, family, and many blessings.

When not practicing yoga, Mary Ann teaches a creative writing class and assists with art classes at her church. She can also be seen walking the beautiful trails around Boerne with her husband. She is the mother of two wonderful grown sons.
